Priest Lake - Kalispell Island

Kalispell Island There is a lot of camping to be done on Kalispell Island. Campgrounds pretty much surround the lake with 7 different locations offering camp sites and vault toilets according to the map.

When catching a mooring bouy on Bartoo or Kalispell Islands, keep in mind the prevailing winds come from the south during the day and they shift in the night and come from the north. That is, unless there is a storm from the south. We caught a southern bouy and were bounced around all night. One of the locals disputed the information we were given and claims the winds almost always come from the south. A storm may bring in some northern winds.

Guess you'll have to figure this on out on your own. :-)

There are moorning bouys and some potential anchoring spots at various spots around the island. The following two GPS coordinates are near mooring bouys:

West side of Kalispell Island
N 48 degrees 33.871 minutes
W 116 degrees 54.223 minutes

South side of Kalispell Island
N 48 degrees 33.641 minutes
W 116 degrees 54.189 minutes
