Lucky Peak Reservoir

|
Lucky Peak Reservoir is the closest body of water to Boise, the capitol city of Idaho.
It is about 10 miles east of Boise and is about 10 miles in length with a shoreline of
nearly 45 miles. It is a very seasonal
lake depending on how much snow pack there is from the prior winter. The typical sailing season
lasts from April through September. There is a marina on the lake called Spring Shores which
has slips for about 300 boats. Gas is available along with a small store for snack type food.
When the lake is full, there are dozens of docks around the lake that can be used for day or
overnight moorage. When the water drops by as little as 5%, most of these docks become unusable.
Motor boat activities, such as water skiing and wake boarding are very popular, so it is good
to keep an eye open for other boats.
