Lucky Peak - Lucky Peak Dam

Lucky Peak Dam is located on the Boise River just 5 miles from Boise on Highway 21. It is an earth filled dam 2,340 feel long and 340 feet high. In the early morning the wind is usually "howling" down the canyon, blowing anywhere from 15-25 knots. This is a favorite spot for the local windsurfers to go because of this intense wind. It is less than 1 mile from both the Turner and Barclay ramps, so accessibility is great.
